I finally took pictures of what I have completed so far and can see that even though I painted these guys two weeks ago, I am improving in areas I was not happy in. For the longest time I struggled with metallic paints and even went to NMM to see if I was any happier with that technique. I wasn't and eventually went back to metallic paints. After playing around with them a bit, I think I've landed on something I'm comfortable with. The metallics on Madrak are the start and I think I improved with them on the Fell Caller. Anywho, on to pics!
Hey there. I _really_ like these trolls. The skin is very vibrant, and the contrast between the skin and the more sombre clothing and metallics makes them "pop" nicely. The one thing I find distracting is the use of the same color for the eyes and the "pimples" on the chins. Makes them look a little...erm...many-eyed.
Also, when you get to the Dire Troll Mauler, and assuming you use the same approach, you're going to have a LOT of that yellow/orange all over his back. Might be pretty distracting when it's that prevalent.
My name is Jessie Carlile and I paint miniatures and love to roll dice. I began painting miniatures in 1999 and have never looked back. Painting is very relaxing and rewarding for me and I hope you enjoy the works I share on this website. I have won many awards for my work including the Silver in 2008 and 2009 Privateer Press Masters Painting Competition as well as a Gold in 2010. Enjoy your stay and if you have any questions feel free to contact me!

Anyway, nice job!
Wow, someone actually reads this? Sweet! Thanks for the comments, I plan to make the bumps on my DTM brownish and his eyes orange.
Thanks for the comments!
